Fire-Fighting Design, installation, testing, commissioning & maintenance. The following maintenance duties are mandatory for the occupant/owner of any building where the systems identified are present. This could include any of the following types of buildings:
Mechanical
Residential
Assembly
Our annual maintenance services require inspections and checks on the following items:
Doors – All doors shall be inspected for their fire separation safety status on a monthly basis. Emergency Lighting - Emergency lighting and exit lights shall be tested and inspected monthly to ensure proper operation.
Fire alarm drills – Drills in day care centers and health care facilities shall be held monthly.
Fire Extinguishers (Monthly Check) - All portable fire extinguishers shall be checked every month to ensure the extinguishers are accessible, (and) have no obvious physical damage, are properly sealed and fully charged.
Loudspeakers – All loudspeakers and other (Test the) voice communication systems shall be inspected each month to ensure they are in proper working condition.
Standpipe & Hose systems - Standpipe and hose systems shall be inspected monthly to ensure that all equipment is in place and operable.
Blocked Exits - All exit passages and other means of leaving buildings or premises shall be rendered clear of obstructions and easily accessible to facilitate easy and safe exiting.

Portable Fire Extinguishers - All portable fire extinguishers shall be inspected annually by a person licensed to inspect portable fire extinguishers as required by NFPA 10, Standards for Portable Fire.
Extinguishers. Upon completion of the inspection, all inspected fire extinguishers shall be properly labeled, showing the inspection date.
Emergency Lighting - Emergency lighting units shall be inspected yearly to ensure they are functional as per the National Fire Code article 6.7.1.7. and copies of the inspection report sent to this office.
Fire Alarms - Fire alarm system shall be inspected and tested annually by a qualified electrical person at intervals of not more than one year. A copy of the test results shall be forwarded to this office for our records.
Standpipe & Hose - Installation, maintenance inspecting and testing standpipe and hose systems shall be completed in conformance with the requirements of NFPA 14 & NFPA 1962.
Sprinkler Systems - Sprinkler systems shall be maintained, inspected and tested annually to meet the requirements of NFPA 25. A copy of the annual test report shall be forwarded to this office.
Private Hydrants - Private hydrants shall be maintained and inspected annually to meet safety requirements.
Oil fired heating equipment – All such equipment shall be installed and maintained strictly in accordance with the Installation Code for Oil Burning Equipment CSA/B139.
